Anyone wanting to ride the bus to the state meet on Saturday should be at LRHS and ready to leave by 7:15. We have to be at N.C. A&T before 9am. Officials meetings and weigh ins for throwers are between 9am-9:30. Field events start at 10 and prelims. at 11am. Anyone riding the bus that is not competing should bring money to get in the meet. The cost will be at least $10.00.

Information and Reminders:
The Track & Field banquet will be on Tuesday, May 20th in the LRHS cafeteria at 6pm. We will handle the banquet like we have in the past.... each athlete/family will bring food to share. Plan on being there around 5:30 with the food so we can get started around 6pm. I will email later with more details. I just wanted everyone to mark their calendars now for that date.
Awards...: I will continue to give out 2 MVPs, 2 Most outstanding performers on the track, 2 most outstanding performers in the field, 2 most improved awards, and 2-3 coaches awards. All the returning athletes and parents know that the school only pays for 2 awards and I always ask for donations to cover the cost of the rest of the awards. I always say that if each athlete would just give a couple of dollars it would cover the cost..... but the past several years I only have 10 or so athletes/parents donate money and they have been more than generous with their donations. It would be great if more people donated this year and only give a few dollars instead of a few athletes/parents having to give 10-20 dollars each to cover the cost. I would like to continue giving more awards since we have so many athletes in track.

Here are the complete reults for the 4-A Mid East Regionals
Below is a summary of the results for LRHS athletes who finished in the top 8 at the regionals.
The girls finished 2nd at the 4-A Mid East Regionals behind Apex and defeating Millbrook (the only team we lost to at the conference meet).
The boys finished 8th.
The following athletes did not make it to the state meet but did comtribute to the team scores by placing 5-8th place

Congrats to the boys for WINNING the CAP-7 Championships. The girls finished a very impressive year despite a few injuries that cost us a lot of points. The girls finished 2nd at the meet yesterday.
