York PTA Fundraising

Pride Stride
Pride Stride (Fall Fundraiser)

The York Elementary PTA conducts Special Event or "Active" Fundraisers as well as Ongoing or "Passive" Fundraisers . There are always opportunities to support the York PTA through participating in either a passive or active fundraiser. The money raised through fundraising is used to directly support York Elementary School through the provision of "mini-grants" to teachers, purchase of equipment and resource materials, teacher/staff appreciation, programs to assist students and many other uses.

Special Event or "Active" Fundraisers

Bulldog Bonanza (Annual Fund Drive)
Join the York PTA for our 2nd Annual Bulldog Bonanza Fund Drive. The drive begins the 1st of October and will run through December 1st. Our goal is to raise money to begin our playground renovation project AND purchase and install SMART Boards for all York classrooms. SMART Boards help kids achieve through interactive learning that is interesting and engaging.

Last year, we raised funds to have at least one SMART Board for each grade level. Now let's work toward a SMART Board in every classroom! This year, let's work toward providing a safe and fun play environment for our children and a SMART Board in every classroom!

Every Bulldog family can help make our fund drive a success and benefit our entire school.

100% PARTICIPATION WILL HELP US MEET OUR GOAL!

Prospective donors would be issued an empty envelope in which to contribute a tax deductible amount of their choosing toward the fundraising goals set forth by the membership at the start of the year. Look for Citipass books coming home September 6th

It's Citipass Fundraiser time! We are counting on you to help with our continued efforts to make York the very BEST we can for our children. Proceeds from our sale will be used in all of the PTA sponsored activities. The books are $25 each and our school will keep $12.50 from each sale.

  • As if helping our school isn't enough: INCENTIVES –Wall Climbers!
  • Everyone who returns the unsold book or the money WILL get the prize!
  • Top selling family will win a weekend night stay for 4 at the Great Wolf Lodge (must sell at least 30 Citipass books to qualify)!

  • Every student that sells 5 books ~ will receive a 6th book for Free!

Pride Stride
Pride Stride is scheduled for October 20th! Get ready to support our Bulldogs as they race (or walk) around the York track, earning money for each lap as they go. This annual event is an autumn highlight, promoting physical fitness for our students and financial fitness for our school. See you on the track October 20th! Bake Sale
Our Bake Sale Committee creates delectable goodies from scratch to have on hand at the bake sale stand during various events throughout the year. All proceeds benefit the PTA Activities, Events and Fundraising goals. To learn more about this committee and how you might participate, please contact Kristen Stojika at Stojk@yahoo.com.

Mixed Bag
This was a highly successful fundraiser that provided a highly useful, re-usable product at a low price point – and allowed York to keep 50% of the product costs. These bags are sold at high end retailers for more than double what we can offer them at, and it's a unique fundraiser for our area. Last Fall, which was the debut of this fundraiser to York, we had 36 families sell bags and we profited $2,000. With the new Mixed Bag Spring line-up, we can certainly plan to triple that amount with increased participation for sure!

Spring Carnival
Mark your calendars for Saturday, April 21, 2012 from 4:00pm ~ 7:00pm. Enjoy a beautiful spring evening full of fun for the entire family at York's Annual Spring Carnival! ALL HANDS ON DECK ~ LOTS of volunteers are needed to make this a FANTASTIC experience for everyone! Please contact Kelly Hobbs at kjhobbs@gmail.com or to lend a hand.

Ongoing/Passive Fundraisers

Out to Eat with the Bulldogs!
Our Out-to-Eat Nights with the Bulldogs are offered one night of several months of the school year. Area restaurants will donate a percentage of sales to York PTA. Past events have been held at Golden Corral, Chick-Fil-A, Fatdaddy's, Schiano's Pizza, McDonald's, Chili's and other local dining establishments. The class with the most participation at each event receives special recognition. Check your Tuesday Folders, the PTA front web page or the York on-line Calendar for dates and times and don’t miss these great events. Box Tops for Education
Box Tops for Education Each year the York PTA collects Box Tops 4 Education cut-outs from participating products yielding an average of $.10 per label collected. Collection flyers are created and submitted to teachers for children to paste their cut-outs onto the sheet, or sheets may also be printed from the Box Tops for Education website. The website offers a list of participating products such as General Mills and Betty Crocker. The website also tracks school progress, offers coupons and discounts and also shopping through the "Marketplace" online ordering. Just register and then use the Marketplace Gateway to do your on-line shopping from many popular participating retail stores (Gap, Hallmark, L.L. Bean, etc.) and those merchants will donate a percentage of your purchase to York. Signing up to benefit York is easy and you do not have to attend York to sign up and collect incentives. Campbells Soup Labels for Education
This year, PTA Vice President Sandra Owens is bringing back Campbell's' Soup Labels for Education. Collect the Labels 4 Education cut-out from Campbell's' soups, Chunky soups, Pepperidge Farm products, lids from V-8 juice bottles and more. Send them in to school with your children. It's that easy! Target Education Program Link your Target Card TODAY!
If you already have a Target charge card or are thinking about getting one, you can register your account number and Target will donate 1% of your purchases charged to your card to York. To learn more about this program, click here and follow the link on the left hand side of the page to "Take Charge of Education." Target gave York money last year from its Take Charge of Education fundraising program. Thanks to all of you who participate in this program. The program allows you to designate a school and then Target donates a percentage of your purchase from your Target Visa or Target Guest card back to that school! It is easy to designate a school or learn more. Just call 1-800-316-6142 or visit www.target.com/tcoe.

Harris Teeter Together in EducationLink your VIC card TODAY!
Similar to the Food Lion program, Harris Teeter's Together in Education will donate 2% of the value of purchases of the following specific brands: Harris Teeter, H.T. Traders, More Value, Highland Crest, Hunter Farms or Premier Selection. Just give the checkout person York's Id number, #2790, or you can apply on-line. To link your Harris Teeter VIP card to York, contact Laura Hudson at 783-2863 or yorkgrocerycard@gmail.com.

Food Lion "Shop & Share"Link your MVP card TODAY!
Food Lion will donate cash to York Elementary School based on how many participants link their MVP Food Lion grocery cards to York. Linking your MVP card to York is very easy. After linking your MVP card to York, each time you shop at Food Lion and scan your MVP card, Food Lion will donate money to the school. To link your MVP card to York, please contact the Grocery Card Re-Link Chair, Laura Hudson at 783-2863 or yorkgrocerycard@gmail.com.

Kroger Plus Card Education Program
If you shop at Kroger and have a Kroger Rewards card, link your card to York to earn money for the school. York's account will be credited with total purchase amounts and at the end of the school year we can shop for educational equipment available through their catalog. To get your card linked in, stop at Kroger Customer Service or contact Laura Hudson at 783-2863 or yorkgrocerycard@gmail.com. Once you're set up, a percentage of your purchase goes to educational equipment credits for York.

Belk Spring Charity Sale
Belk occasionally sponsors a Charity Sale to help support non-profit groups. When you make a $5 donation to York Elementary, you will receive a coupon that gives you $5 back off your purchase plus extra savings on rarely discounted items throughout the store. This is a great opportunity to raise money for our school. Stay tuned for news on the next Charity Sale. If you would like a coupon, please send in your $5 marked "Belk Coupon" and a coupon will be sent home with your child. Feel free to offer coupons to friends, family, neighbors, co-workers, etc.
