Notes from the Principal

Dear Parents,

November has arrived with its crisp climate and beautiful array of fall colors! We have completed the first quarter of the school year and are excited about the journey thus far. With the support of the York leadership team, we now have a “Bulldog Bright Idea” box located in the front office. This box is being introduced as a quality tool for our focus on continuous improvement. It is designed to be anonymous and can be utilized by parents, students and staff for ideas that will make our school a better place to work and learn. Because it is anonymous, we asked that no names of individuals be addressed in the idea submitted. In addition, student council voted to use our in school mail system, Wee Deliver, as a communication tool for students to provide input to student council members. We hope you find these tools useful!

I am very excited to announce that we are expecting an addition to the York family. On December 1, 2009 the halls at York will be filled with more students. We are very happy that 18 pre-k students will be joining the York family. Pre-K registration and screening will be conducted at York on Monday, November 16 from 9:30 until 12:30.

In keeping with the Thanksgiving season, please know how much I truly appreciate everything that you do to support our school and community. I wish you and your family a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday.
